Outstanding performance

Echo Barrier products undergo thorough laboratory and field testing, to ensure that you get the best possible performance every time you use them.

Echo Barrior products are unrivalled at reducing sound pollution, but are light enough for one person to install them. Despite being thinner and lighter than our competitors’ products, our barriers are more effective.

Our products excel in the six areas most essential for noise reduction products:

Echo Barrier products are made with a special high-tech composite material that absorbs noise and suppresses noise reflection. At frequencies of 300Hz-1khz, it absorbs up to 100% of sound.

Echo Barrier products are fully waterproof to industry standards, IPx 6/9. They are effective in heavy rain and can be jet-washed.

Traditional acoustic blankets and noise barriers are often made of water-absorbent materials (such as fibreglass and Rockwool). When these materials get waterlogged, they weigh the barriers down and cut their noise reduction in half.

Extensive testing has proved that Echo Barrier's products provide unrivalled noise attenuation in the field. Laboratory tests have shown that our barriers reduce noise by up to 40dB. Even though our barriers are 50% lighter than conventional acoustic barriers, they are more effective. Echo Barrier's modular system of acoustic barriers are perfectly balanced in size and weight. They easily be linked and reconfigured to customize your barriers to for your work environment.

Echo Barrier's modular system of acoustic barriers are easy to move, deploy, and reconfigure for any situations.
If you need to create an acoustic wall or curtain, you can link the barriers vertically or horizontally. If you need extra noise reduction, they can be doubled up easily.
Echo Barrier's acoustic products can be positioned and modified to to meet your needs in almost any situation.

Fire-resistant test standard ASTM E84 (BS 7837-1996)
Dust-resistant test standard BSEN 60529-1992
Cold-resistant test standard (result) BSEN 60068/2/1:2007
Tensile test standard (result) ISO 17025 (5.52kN vertical, 1.34 kN horizontal)
UV-resistant 3 years (USA + Canada)

The geometry of noise mitigation concerns the relative positions of:
* i) any barrier;
* ii) the source of noise it is intended to mitigate;
* iii) the noise receiver (in this case, the human ear).

The closer the barrier is placed to the noise source -making its "acoustic shadow" larger- the greater the noise attenuation. A barrier can also reduce more sound if it is made taller, or by using fence extentions

As Echo Barrier products are lightweight and portable, they can be moved to cast the optimum acoustic shadow, and maintain the perfect site geometry as the project progresses.

The critical range in noise control is 300Hz-1000Hz. A noise control barrier must absorb as much sound as possible over this range if it is to be considered effective. Tested in the field, our barriers average a remarkable 77% efficiency over the crucial range. Considering our products are half the thickness and much lighter in weight than alternatives our competitive advantage becomes clear.

All Echo Barriers are designed with the end user in mind, they are easy to store, transport and install making for maximum site efficiency

Rigorous testing

There are two key measurements to consider when testing an acoustic barrier’s performance:

  • Transmission loss: The decrease in noise level (measured in decibels) that results when sound passes through a solid barrier;
  • Efficiency: The ability of a barrier to prevent sound reflection and its consequent increase in noise.

By concentrating on one of these measures it is relatively easy for some barriers to perform well in the lab alone, but it is performance in the field that is vital.

Both in the lab and on worksites, Echo Barrier’s products achieve world-leading performance for both transmission loss and efficiency of sound absorption.

In some circumstances, Echo Barrier’s products perform better in the field than in a lab. The chart below shows the results of independent tests using a diesel-powered trenchless excavation drill.

When compared with their performance in the laboratory, Echo Barrier panels deployed on-site achieved an additional 5 dB in noise reduction at certain frequencies.

Temporary Sound Barriers, Boston

With the help of temporary acoustic barriers, Boston noise control is quick and easy

Outdoor sound barriers in Boston – the city of progress

As the home of Harvard and MIT, Boston can truly be considered as one of the world’s leading cities for innovation, technological advancement and progress. Of course, such a vibrant and popular city also needs solid infrastructure, adequate housing and an array of amenities to keep up with its ambition – which is why there are hundreds of construction projects ongoing at any one time.

At Echo Barrier, we believe that the future of a city and the future of its people go hand in hand, which is why our work is dedicated to ensuring that construction work, manufacturing and heavy industry doesn’t mean unbearable noise pollution or noise ordinance issues.

Our acoustic barriers and noise reduction solutions are versatile, robust and easy on the eye, which is why they are fast-becoming the sound barriers of choice in Boston.

Exterior sound barriers for construction

With levels of noise pollution on the rise in many areas of Boston, there's never been a greater need for effective noise regulation systems.

Echo Barrier's market-leading acoustic barriers are the perfect temporary solution for any business needing to protect its local communities from increased decibel levels and build a long-lasting relationship with them. Our temporary sound barriers are flexible and highly versatile and provide developers with a cost-effective solution to the noise that inevitably comes as a result of their projects.

These sound barriers have a low-visual impact technology that can be used on a large range of locations – they can be placed even in the harshest environments due to their high durability and resistance.

In the US alone, tens of millions of people struggle daily with conditions strongly linked to noise pollution and exposure to such noises, including stress and cardiovascular diseases. Because of that, it is essential that technologies like the Echo Barrier acoustic barriers are used to fulfil our responsibility towards all communities of people.

We are also dedicated to making our products as sustainable as possible, by manufacturing sound barriers using recycled materials and non-hazardous substances wherever possible. Not only that, but through Echo Barrier's buy-back scheme you can also help to ensure that our products don’t simply become single-use items.

Progress should not be uncomfortable or damaging to the people or the environment, which is why Echo Barrier is a smart and safe choice for your next project.

Living in Boston: Sound barriers on highways and infrastructure schemes

With their high versatility and durability, Echo Barrier sound barriers can be used across many types of construction, included but not limited to events, rail, highways, utilities, and demolition sites. In cities like Boston, road building and maintenance is particularly prevalent – requiring an effective and hardwearing solution that can last the course.

At Echo Barrier, we pride ourselves on the durability of our products, which can last over 10 years – up to five times longer than our average competitor. Not only that, but the way the products are built helps them absorb noise at a range of frequencies – which is critical in projects where heavy machinery and masonry is being used alongside power tools and large vehicles.

Boston is known for its unpredictable and sometimes harsh climate, depending on the time of year. But that’s no issue with products like our H-Series. These fully weatherproof and waterproof products are resistant to extreme temperatures from -40° F to 158° F. The sound barriers will not absorb any water and can even be washed with a pressure washer.

Need to reduce noise and avoid sound disruption in even the most challenging of circumstances and locations? Then you’ve come to the right place.
